SERVING THE GREATER NEW MILFORD AREA SINCE 1965
Just as sweet as the treat she's named for - Cannoli enters the stage! Cannoli is a darling three year old 65 pound, shepherd mix who came up to us from the south. She's got lots of love to give and would love a family to share it with. She has been spayed and is up to date with all vaccines. Cannoli loves to be outside to romp and play or to go for a nice walk on leash. Of course she knows how to mix play and leisure and is perfectly content to come nap in a comfy spot when the fun is done. This girl will make an excellent addition to a home and is sure to bring so much joy- all she needs is a chance!

Baker the Bernadoodle is a one year old neutered male who was surrendered to AWS (on his birthday!) when his owners could no longer care for him properly. Baker is very unexperienced with the world and will need lots of guidance to become a proper canine citizen. He has lots of energy, so an active household would be best for him! Baker loves to play and go for long interesting walks. Baker comes crate trained and mostly housebroken. His boundless enthusiasm brings so much joy to those who meet him. He's one goofy guy who just needs some direction in life to be the best he can be!

Audrey is a wonderful one year old Border Collie mix. She is a nervous girl at first, and takes a patient hand but once she's comfortable she's more then happy to be your best friend! She is a clever girl and is eager to put her mind and body to work. Her favorite way to get energy out right now is with a nice walk around the shelter yard. If you're lucky she might even do a zoomie for you! Audrey has quite a bit of potential- with the right person by her side her confidence will soar!
Along side some basic obedience and slow socialization she's sure to make a great companion. She is very playful with other dogs and tends to avoid cats. A home with no children and Border Collie experience recommended. Audrey is spayed and up to date with her vaccines. This beautiful girl is truly one of a kind! Audrey is ready to find a home just right for her- could it be you?

Adam's a 2 yr old Rottweiler mix who wiggles and plays, sits like a gentleman, and goes everywhere with a plushy cheese! Although he LOVES everyone he knows - as you might expect, he's wary of strangers and it takes him longer to warm-up to men.

The ideal home for Rip is one without cats, dogs are ok, but he can be selective.

Michael is a 8 year old Beagle mix, he was found as a stray in Puerto Rico with his brother Mike. He is a gentle senior boy who has been with us for quite some time. He is a shy guy, but in time he does warm up, and that in its self is really rewarding. He does find comfort in the company of his brother Michael.
Michael enjoys walks, and playtime in the yard. He does require a fish only diet as he has food allergies.
He and his is brother Mike are a bonded pair, so they will be required to be adopted out together.
The ideal home for these bonded brothers is one where they will be the only pet in the home, no cats. And a fenced in yard would be most suitable.

Sweet, but very shy, Butter Pecan is a 45 lb five-year-old spayed lab mix who was flown up from Puerto Rico around two years ago. Building trust with Butters is a slow, but rewarding process. During her time at the shelter, she's grown more and more comfortable with our volunteers and staff to the point where she's begun to accept affection and gets excited when she notices us arrive, so we're confident that while it will be a long process of working with her, she has the capacity to be a very loving dog.

Gideon is a 6 year old neutered male who was found as a local stray. Friendly, energetic, and sweet, Gideon is a fun dog who enjoys going on walks and romping around in the yard. He loves a good blanket and sometimes scares the staff by snuggling so deep into a comforter that we don't realize he's there! Gideon has a food allergy and will need to be on a strictly fish-based diet, but he's not picky with his food and has been more than happy with the adjustment. He could live with a dog-savvy cat and is selective about other dogs, so he may do best with a canine companion content to leave him alone.

Daisy is a 7-year old, 10-lb Maltese. Daisy as sweet as she looks has aggression issues with new people, dogs and cats. Once she is comfortable with you she absolutely adores you. Daisy also has kidney disease which is being treated with diet and supplements.
Daisy enjoys going on walks and interacting with FAMILIAR staff and volunteers. Daisy will need potty training.
We know Daisy is a hard placement due to bite history so we are very understanding that she may be here long term. We are looking for sponsors to help with cost of her care. If an adopter comes along who is very understanding of her behavior and willing to come spend time with Daisy prior to adoption we will consider that. The ideal home for Daisy is one with NO children, cats or dogs.

This sweet 6 year old, long haired Dachshund is looking for a patient and quiet home. Jezebel is spayed and up to date on vaccines. She weighs a wopping 8lbs.
Jezebel came from an over crowded home, where she did not get the one on one attention that is needed for socializing and training. She is a skittish little lady who will need house training and leash work. She doesn’t mind the company of another dog, and doesn’t seem to mind cats. A home with children would NOT be suitable for Jezebel.

Energetic Enzo bounds in! With loads of enthusiasm and a joy for life Enzo the lab mix is one fun dog. He loves to run around our yard and gets the funniest zoomies. Enzo came up to us from West Virginia, and is five years old and at about forty pounds. He'll need structure in his new life, and would do best with training to master leash work and basic obedience. Enzo would love an active family with no small children where he can work his body and brain and use up all his excess energy. The world is big and beautiful and Enzo can't wait to explore it all!
