MAC

was our surprise of the week, a Sheltie was expected and a Beagle turned up instead... and very pleased we are to have him too. He is about 7 years old and very stressed here, an active boy who enjoys being outside running about or walking. He loves a human companion by his side and is sure he is a lap dog, where he will settle down and melt into your lap.

CLOVER AND CHARM

are two very sweet Beagle mixes from the South, they arrived with 8 puppies in tow, we think that Clover (tri colour) is the mother and Charm is either her sister or her mother. Just lovely, happy little girls who love to be outside running around barking greetings at all visitors to the Shelter. Even though they are older, between 6-8 years old, they have plenty of energy and are very playful.  Hopefully, they can be adopted together as they are so close to each other, they will certainly bring love and laughs to their new home. [Clover: 34-lbs; Charm: 30-lbs]

GHILLIE

is an enthusiastic and friendly boy who gets along with everyone. He's very active, enjoys running and playing, loves to be with other dogs and knows his basic commands. He is waiting impatiently for an active family to take him home where he can get on with his life.

JITTERBUG

was hit by a car in West Virginia and taken to a Shelter there before coming up here, she was injured quite badly with a fractured shoulder, a damaged leg and various cuts and abrasions. All is healing well and she is an active little girl, time will tell as to how far her leg will return to normal. This sweet-natured and loving dog has been given a second chance and only the very best will do for our special girl. [30-lbs]

SUE

is a miniature Poodle from the South.  A sweet-natured older lady who has very limited, if any, vision due to cataracts in both eyes, she also has diabetes for which she has two injections every day.  A contented little girl who potters around doing her own thing and then likes to curl up in a bed next to her human companion - she likes company but can also be left alone.

ROSEY

is a Southern Hound, slightly on the older side about 7 years or so and is a very sweet natured girl. Like most hounds she enjoys being out following her nose, loves the sound of her own voice and will happily eat her way through the day. She may never have lived in a house before and is looking forward to finding out what a home and family of her own is all about.

SHERYL

is a German Shepherd mix and is a sweet and polite girl. She has an old, self-healed, injury to her hips which doesn't appear to bother her, although it does mean limited exercise. She is positive for heartworm and has to remain at the Shelter until her treatment has been completed. She would love to have visitors though and maybe even a home waiting to welcome her when she has a clean bill of health.

BLUFORD

is a very sweet-natured southern Hound mix, he is quiet and well-behaved and gets along with everyone.  He's active and enjoys long walks then is happy to settle down for some love and attention.  Not being a big fan of cats he would like a home without them. [65-lbs]

DOZER

is a gorgeous white German Shepherd who was abandoned with his "brother" Shaman. Only about 2 years old he is quite shy and skittish although he has made friends with the staff and volunteers and is a really nice boy. He is playful and affectionate and is looking for owners who can help build his confidence and realize his full potential.

ELMER

has come a long way since his arrival in October 2016 - yes, sadly he has been here over two years. During that time he has put on much needed weight, his skin condition has cleared up and he has become one handsome young man. He has proved himself to be a good boy, but he will need obedience training and enough exercise to keep himself out of mischief.  Very loving towards people he has to be the only animal in the house. He has watched so many dogs come in and go home and it makes him sad that no one seems to want to adopt him, he is a great dog who deserves better. [60-lbs]

SHAMAN

is a beautiful white German Shepherd who was abandoned with his "brother" Dozer. He is about 3 years old and is the more outgoing of the two, despite not having had the best start in life he is a really nice boy who is eager to please and should not have any trouble in learning basic obedience. He is looking for his second chance home where he can reach his full potential and have a happy and meaningful life.
