FLORENCE NIGHTINGGALE

is a female black cat who we think is about four years old. She was brought to us after being found as a stray with her kittens, who have since found homes of their own. Florence does not seem to be used to human company, and tends to be uncomfortable with being handled too much, though she will accept occasional petting. She has come to appreciate having a safe place to sleep and regular meals here at the shelter. Florence Nightingale is looking for a quiet home where she can feel secure, with people who will patiently earn her trust.

LONG JOHN

His owner died and a neighbor fed him for 6 months before he came to the Shelter. Although he is shy he has come down from the rafters and rests comfortably inside, out of the cold. He is becoming more comfortable around humans and with TLC, he could become a part of the family.

Long John qualifies for AWS Seniors to Seniors Program where adoption fees are waived for seniors (over 60) who adopt a senior cat.

TREBLE

is as sweet, but shy girl who enjoys the company of other cats and is beginning to seek attention from humans. With a little encouragement she will come out of her shell and make a great addition to the family.

SHANA

is sweet, but shy girl who loves to play with her best buddy Alexa. As a stray, she has not had much socialization however she is becoming more interested in  human interaction and will accept pets with a wand as well as hand pets on her back. She would do best in a home with another cat who can show her the way.  With patience she could blossom.

CAPTAIN

is our 11-year old senior, long haired neutered male. He is sensitive to change and will need a home that is patient and will let him adjust at his own pace. He is accepting of touch only to his head and loves to have his head scratched but be warned he doesn't like you going any further than that. He needs a home as the only pet as he does not like other cats or dogs.

Captain qualifies for our senior to senior program.

OSLO

is a 2 year old short haired neutered male.

If Oslo got to pick a super power, he would absolutely choose invisibility. While he waits for that wish to come true, he settles for hiding among his cat friends in our community pen, hoping no one notices he's there.

His ideal adopter would probably be a cat lover who is fascinated by stories of Bigfoot and Nessie - you know, someone who can still love and admire a creature that's rarely (if ever) seen.

NESTOR

is a three year old neutered male tuxedo. He needed a little time to come out of his shell when he first got here, but now that he is comfortable he is usually the first to greet people in the hallway when they come to meet our cats.

He is friendly, playful, and inquisitive. Nestor gets along with other cats but may prefer females.

BENJAMIN FRANKLIN

is a 5 year old neutered tabby, who came to us after a death in the family. We know he was closely bonded with his elderly owner so we are hopeful that once he had enough time to settle into a new home he would come around and show his real personality. And how can resist the crossed eyes!?

PITCH

is a two year old neutered male domestic short hair. He was found as a stray and is nervous of people. As he gets to know the staff members here, he is getting a little more curious about making friends, and we do expect he will come around with some patience. In the meantime he does seem to get along well with our other cats, so going to a home with an outgoing cat may help him feel more comfortable around his new family.

GYPSY

is a one year old spayed tabby cat. She is a cautious girl, but will come around in time if you give her space to get comfortable. Gypsy would prefer a cat savvy home without young children, and she would be happy to live with other cats.
