FLORENCE NIGHTINGGALE

is a female black cat who we think is about four years old. She was brought to us after being found as a stray with her kittens, who have since found homes of their own. Florence does not seem to be used to human company, and tends to be uncomfortable with being handled too much, though she will accept occasional petting. She has come to appreciate having a safe place to sleep and regular meals here at the shelter. Florence Nightingale is looking for a quiet home where she can feel secure, with people who will patiently earn her trust.

LONG JOHN

His owner died and a neighbor fed him for 6 months before he came to the Shelter. Although he is shy he has come down from the rafters and rests comfortably inside, out of the cold. He is becoming more comfortable around humans and with TLC, he could become a part of the family.

Long John qualifies for AWS Seniors to Seniors Program where adoption fees are waived for seniors (over 60) who adopt a senior cat.

SHANA

is sweet, but shy girl who loves to play with her best buddy Alexa. As a stray, she has not had much socialization however she is becoming more interested in  human interaction and will accept pets with a wand as well as hand pets on her back. She would do best in a home with another cat who can show her the way.  With patience she could blossom.

CAPTAIN

is our 11-year old senior, long haired neutered male. He is sensitive to change and will need a home that is patient and will let him adjust at his own pace. He is accepting of touch only to his head and loves to have his head scratched but be warned he doesn't like you going any further than that. He needs a home as the only pet as he does not like other cats or dogs.

Captain qualifies for our senior to senior program.

MIRANDA BAILEY

was found as a pregnant stray before she came into our care. Her babies have grown up and found families of their own and now it's Miranda's turn. She is sort of sweet and sour – she sometimes seeks affection from people, but sometimes she gets overwhelmed and can swat at your hands, so we feel she is too unpredictable for a home with young children. She is looking for an adult only home with someone who can tell when she needs her space.

KASSIDY

is a one and a half year old female black cat who was surrendered to us when her previous owners could no longer keep her. Kassidy is a healthy young cat, though she is allergic to fish so her new owner will need to be mindful of that. She finds the hustle and bustle of shelter life to be particularly stressful, but if you catch her during a quiet moment she likes being gently pet and will start purring for you. Kassidy is looking for a calm home where she can build her confidence..
