Dear Friend of the Animal Welfare Society,

Thank you for being a part of our fifty-three year commitment to homeless dogs and cats. We are truly grateful for the times you have supported our work and enabled us to offer these animals a warm, clean environment until they are placed with the best families for them. Every cat and dog that comes through our doors receives high quality veterinary care that includes vaccinations, testing, spay/neuter, flea and tick prevention and microchipping.

Our dedication extends to animals who are injured, sick or old. Jazzy and Cassie are living proof that we do our best to heal the ill while we wait patiently for the right home for those adoptions that take more time.

Jazzy and her three puppies came to us from West Virginia. The puppies were healthy, had great temperaments and were easily adopted into loving families after their veterinary care. However, Jazzy was deathly sick with several infections and required multiple surgeries. It took nine months for our skilled staff and veterinary team to restore her health and place her with an outstanding family.

Cassie is a local senior cat who came to us excessively overweight. She was put on a healthier diet and became an official greeter to all at the shelter, but she was “hidden in plain sight.” Cassie was with us for five years before the perfect adopters arrived to give her the comfort she welcomed and deserved.

Our organization is solid and our future just become much brighter with some exciting news. We received an extraordinary bequest that will allow us to fulfill our dream to expand our 1991 vintage shelter. We are so grateful and thrilled. We will be sharing more of our plans and progress on the project with you early in the new year.

While all this good news swirls around, we maintain our dedication to providing loving care for each of our cats and dogs. With your support, we will do this every day far into the future. Although we do not receive funds from taxes, we uphold our high standards as an independent, 501c3, non-destroy rescue.

With this year's Annual Fund Drive, we encourage you to make a donation today to ensure the care of our dogs and cats now and into the exciting days to come.
