SOME GOOD NEWS

THE 2020 Give Local Online Event is now over. We would like to thank all that participated by donating and in contributing to the AWS Shelter Pets and Family Slideshow + Gallery. The event was a great success! The support of our benefactors, sponsors, friends and and business partners are what make our work at the shelter possible. We can not thank you enough for your support! We are still accepting your photographs for the Online Gallery, and there is a chance that your (high resolution) photo may be featured on the home page of the AWS website. Click here for more information.

Your Generosity Of Time and Donations Make It All Possible...

VOLUNTEER. DONATE. SPONSOR.

Our shelter and the services we provide our animals are solely dependent upon the concern and generosity of the people and businesses in our community. We do not receive any public funds. We place many dogs and cats over the course of a year, but many more are waiting for the opportunity to come to our shelter. We encourage you to learn more about our organization, mission, work, shelter activities, as well as how you can help make it all possible through your membership, financial donations, sponsorship and volunteer support.

Animal Welfare Society is a 501(C)(3) nonprofit organization. Donations are generally tax-deductible.

The Animal Welfare Society, Inc. (AWS) was founded in 1965 as an independent, non-profit, non-destroy animal rescue organization. Our mission is to offer refuge to homeless and abandoned dogs and cats and place them in loving, responsible homes. Animal Welfare Society

AWS PARTNERS

KICKS 105.5 FM brings you the Pet Of The Week every Monday at 7:10 a.m. Pet of the Week is presented by the ”Adopt and Save Program” at Agriventures Agway and the Animal Welfare Society in New Milford.

AWS has partnered with a national nonprofit, "Pets for Patriots," to help U.S. military veterans adopt the pet of their dreams.

Pets for Patriots aims to get harder-to-adopt pets out of shelters while offering free memberships to U.S. veterans and incentives to help them care for their new pet. The organization has a network of shelters that their members can use to find their perfect pet, and they pre-screen members before they visit shelters to make sure they’ll be good pet parents. Animal Welfare Society would like to thank absolutely everyone that was involved in contributing to the success of the 2020 AWS Give Local Fundraiser. Your generous giving during this event truly assists AWS in providing food, shelter, medical care and affection to abandoned and neglected dogs and cats until they can be placed in responsible, loving homes. We are so very grateful for your support.

A special thanks to the Connecticut Community Foundation, and their staff, organizers and sponsors for hosting the event. They are truly a valuable asset to Connecticut's non-profit organizations.

This year's Give Local Event was held April 21-22, 2020.
